Shelter is protection from the elements... so that's a need. You can die depending on the weather so that's not the same as sex. You wont die from not fucking a pussy. Family is quite literally a need or you wouldn't have been born... and you wouldn't have survived childhood. As an adult its not a need, but its a good thing to have and definitely a want. I'd agree on electricity, there are millions of tribal people around the world that life without it. It makes life better but its not need... those people feel that life is perfectly worth living without electricity.
Anything that's at the base of Maslow's Hierarchy is a need. The rest you can survive without. You might not enjoy life, but you will survive.
As for the neurochemical issues, you can get the same neurochemical releases other ways than sex. The body has many other ways of triggering the release of endorphins and oxytocin.

You change the subject to talk about the stress of life living in Section 8. That's an entirely different issue.
But if you want to change the topic to stress... there were other plenty of stresses in the past as well. Do you think women in the past were stressed knowing that every single childbirth could result in them dying? While that death during childbirth can still happen today its exceedingly rare these days. Yea there's a lot of crime in areas with section 8 housing... but its not like crime didn't exist in the past. Stats show we're living in one of the least violent times in history.

No, wasn't being snide. In the article it was all about this voodoo cult rising of women in Africa and the US.
