I think some people look for validation and acceptance from others, so being able to tell someone close to them (or a random person online even)
And they agree or at least wont ridicule or look at you with disgust after telling them your personal beliefs or feelings towards something especially your sexual preferences...that can help mentally for people to feel more assured of themselves!

Like you're not hurting anyone or yourself, so what's wrong then? Nothing! :)
But obviously not everyone is the same, some people don't need that sort of boost in confidence or anyone to agree with they could care less and will carry on regardless

With this topic and legality issues and potential societal problems that come along with zoo/beast, I would probably keep to yourself unless you feel you need to tell someone else for your sanitys sake! And if so make sure they are beyond trustworthy !!

if i ever told anyone it would probably be just to have something to add to some chats we have over beers with friends... one of my friends likes to brag about what and where they did it with his gf (tho i have no idea what about "i fucked her up the butt so hard there was tomato peel on my dick" is brag-worthy) and i'm the "virgin" of the group simply because they don't know....

You nailed it all down very well. This is an area of our lives in which validation should not be sought, and if one needs an overall, general boost in confidence, my goodness, find something else about yourself on which to build it. There are a lot of things to bring up, instead of this!
I just have never understood the dire need some people have to share it with someone. They often mistake their ultra-close, best friend since childhood who also happens to be the nastiest, sex-hungry, fuck-anything, sluttiest whore on the planet *raises my hand*
as someone who would certainly accept it and/or be open to doing it, as someone they can tell. NO. Everyone has a line to draw somewhere, and zoo is usually where it is.

So, like others on here have mentioned, I have told others, several other, but those that I have told that fit in the more than 4 category, are other zoos which I met through a zoo site first.

As to non zoos, I have told 2. Both when I was young and stupid. Both ended in the loss of what I thought was a friend but that in of itself was okay. Since they could not accept me as zoo they were not real friends so I do not mind that they are gone from my life. What is good was that neither knew that I had actually had sex with an animal, only that I wanted to, so there was nothing they could report me for.

Well I'd been with my partner for almost 2 years before I told him. I was always worried that he'd judge me or leave me or whatever.
