edit: I didn't know it existed (never heard of oil-based lube), but from a few research online most are unsure that it's safe to swallow and your dog will lick himself for sure
It may as well be difficult to remove on the fur so better be safe than hurt him and stay on water-based lube

Oil feels better. Try jerking it to swiss navy silicone.

I'm pretty sure it's safe. If you can put it in your butt safely it should be okay for the mouth.

I found that aloe works in a pinch but you'll wanna test for allergies first.
