Creating an ideal dog breed for Zoos

Could such a thing be possible and how would it work?

I have knowledge in dog breeding and i know how selective breeding works but would it be realistic to try and create a perfect partner dog for people?
 
Ethics aside, what exactly would a breed for zoos have different about them that cant be found in any of the massive bouquet of existing breeds and the cross their of?
Now back to ethics, I feel like we are all ready ruining dogs fast enough with all the health issues we are already selecting for whether we mean to or not. Furthermore the amount of the hole life time a zoo and a dog get to shear, the vast vast majority is not spent fucking each other's brains out, assuming we're talking about some kind of sexual enhancements.
My take isn't so much: can we?, but really should we?
I also realize that I say all of this knowing that we all have our favorite breeds very much including my self.

They wouldn't be some breed you only you have sex with that is just objectifying them . I think that would be a bad idea . And i also agree on the should we part because things like the pug exist and i feel bad that they exist everyday. Didn't mean to come off as some weirdo fantasizing about some nympho breed . As you said there are a lot of problems with breeding these days with over breeding for looks and stuff causing health problems. I feel like if this breed would be bred to be healthier and smarter without focusing too much on certain aspects.They would be a breed that could fit in perfectly on the list with other dogs but just be better in certain aspects.

I would only agree with that, if it would lead to them being able to stay with use longer like 30 years instead 10-15. With them staying healthy through that and happy. Its just sad knowing they are only with us for such a relatively short amount of time. :cry:

Yeah that's a good point, I would very much be interested in this.
 
There is no particular feat that makes a dog better or worse for a zoo. When there is literally no achievable goal, why put in the effort? The only ones that would suffer are the dogs for absolutely no reason.
