I know this is years old but I have to agree. What grinds my gears are people (mostly whites) who think they are qualified to speak on behalf of other races and in turn end up being racist themselves. To continue the Native American theme, the NFL regarding of Redskins is a prime example. Not a single Native American spoke out against the team, and in fact, quite a few were on TV saying how it's an honor.People who go batshit crazy and all offended if I wear a Native American costume on Halloween. (And more often than not the ones getting offended are not even Native American.) (You politically correct snowflakes)
Or Disney's retheming of Splash Mountain into a Princess and the Frog ride. Besides the fact that there are no mountains in Louisiana or the fact it makes zero sense to put it in a Wild West themed land, the ride never had any racist elements and was barely even connected to the movie. It didn't even have Song of the South in its name. Plus the movie had already been banned for a long time prior to its initial creation but it's all of a sudden racist after 25 years? And furthermore, every time I went on the ride, there were more blacks than whites. Really racist ride, isn't it? And controversial opinion incoming...PatF isn't even that good a movie. It's only looked fondly because of what Disney had churned out since 2000 and ANYTHING with quality control would be better than Chicken Little or Home on the Range.
