When's a good age to have my dog mount me?

I have a 6-7 month old intact male golden retriever. Was just wondering if that's too early to try to have him mount me. If it is please let me know and what age is a good age to start.

It typically depends on the type of dogs. Larger dogs tend to reach sexual maturity at a later age and won't really show much interest as they are developing. Of course every dog is different and there will be outliers.

My boy is on the larger side and we didn't mate until like 20 months into his life
 
If you're tight but your dog has a big dick is it better to start earlier when their dick is smaller maybe?
 
As others have said, 18-24 months is a good guide, but wait for the instinct to come naturally as he reaches sexual maturity.
You’re less likely to end up with problem behaviors this way

You have to let them develop by around a year or more. Obviously don't go up to dane size. A lab is almost always a good starter dog for companion and more.
