While I am deeply sympathetic to any women getting harassed by other members, I am completely against this idea, even an ostensibly voluntary form. There's no benefit at all to verifying one's gender or sex as 'authentic' as all genders and sexes are equally welcome. Transgender and intesex people will be further marginalized and subjected to scrutiny which nobody on the planet has the right to impose on them. To say nothing of the privacy invasion this would create as users, all of whom I expect would be women suspected to be men, would feel pressure to step outside of their comfort zone in order to gain acceptance. To say nothing still about whether the site operators are themselves trustworthy with that kind of information (sorry, but running a cool site counts for exactly nothing in my book).

Trust and reputation are earned over time, both in real life and on forums concerning delicate topics, and there is no way to speedrun this process without creating an especially toxic and pointless version of Checkmark Twitter, and risking the site's open and relatively welcoming environment by stratifying users into "somebodies" or "nobodies" based entirely on their risk tolerance, attractiveness, access to animals, willingness to produce content, or whether they're famous or well connected.

If someone can't fap to something you post without first being sure you meet their standard of beauty or orientation, that is 100% their problem, not yours. If someone wants to meet you but doesn't trust you are who you say you are, you are not obligated to do anything special, and they can fuck right off out a window.

My name is àqua, I am a blue sphere with Opinions, and my gender is, apparently, a unicorn emoji. I am not concerned with credibility, and I think you shouldn't be either.

?
Aqua, you said it so perfectly and I agree 100%. I have not ever been harassed but that could be because I'm only on here about one time each week, and then for only about two hours. I can understand why someone would not want to be verified on this type of website, and there is no need to be verified here either. Now I only hope people don't start calling me a man just because I posted my view. I could easily be wasting the two hours I spend here each week doing online gaming instead of reading things posted on this website, asking questions, and learning.

I certainly see Wasbitchpolly's point. If people were verified, it would also help reduce the ease at which people are catfished. Not to mention it shouldn't be a huge deal anyway.
Now I do feel like verification should be optional, but if a person is not verified then they will have a tag saying "Not Verified" next to their username.

I can also assume that women would like to talk to actual women who can relate 100% what it is like to go through the same issues in this particular lifestyle and with this particular sexuality. Periods, vaginal knots, pregnancy etc (things men can't relate to much at all)
And I also assume that men would like to talk to actual men who can relate to them. Especially if the men are homosexual.

No. I won't be made a second class citizen for refusing to endanger my anonymity and thus the safety of my family. The better solution is to have clear and bulletproof rules of conduct including strong protections for the most vulnerable members of this site, and consistent enforcement thereof.

THIS! RIGHT HERE!

Next up : verified animal owners. And people know what im referring to.

It is unfortunate that harassment exists. It exists because there are awful people in the world. But you don't have to feed into it. No one has anything to prove here. Do not be so insecure in yourself that you think you need to prove something to someone you don't even know. If they are personal messaging you and won't leave you alone. Report them and block them. If it is in a forum tell them they are not worth your time.
You and your time is to valuable to waste on some immature horny guy trying to manipulate you into exposing yourself.

Wow, I’m very heartbroken reading some of these comments. I really hate that you ladies are being harassed as viciously as you are.. :(

I think the depressing thing is that I will fall under the "fake" label because I have nothing in the way of resources to indulge in the zoo life (in other words, I'm poverty-level whose only zoo fix is via videos).

i promise my self to never share again pics or videos about my self... cause somebody steal one of my videos in zoosbook, and share it everywhere

This place is the most expressive I've seen women in the community for a very long time. Especially when compared to other forums. However I see WAY more posts of "I have to verify, I'm out" kind of posts. Although I also get messages from men, I'm posting about my canine sex life on a forum in a deep societal taboo. Of course I'm going to get PMs from horny men looking to get their rocks off.

> Leave Conversation
> Prevent from getting future messages

Then they get that fat slap of rejection from them as they permanently lose contact with you. Otherwise you can set your PM setting to "Only People I Know" and you can get messages from people who follow you.

I feel like this is just a symptom of the environment we are in. The staff have a colossal amount of work for them, anyone with any online administrative experience knows it takes a long ass time to get this going. The reason I'm so expressive is because I keep online and offline separate enough, and I see that dying when we have to get checkmarks to be "real women".

Yea thats the best way to prevent such things.
Made the same experience and its quite surprising how quickly and widely stuff gets shared

Most I do these times is pictures and even then, never with face and worst case I cover everything around me or on my body that could expose me, did seem to work just fine tho if I'm being honest.
However especially in zoo regards you easily and quickly get to hear how you never did anything with someone or just talk about a fantasy whenever you simply state that you don't wanna share such things with randoms :/

A verification process could backfire on us. I stay anonymous for a reason. There are a lot of unscrupulous people who would like to get that vetting information and use it to dox us on Twitter. I remember when the Netherlands ended Beastiality single handely bringing the beast-porn industry to a screeching halt in 2007. I remember Law Enforcement using Beastforum to set up sting operations and arrested a bunch of members across the country. We are a persecuted people. They hate us because we exist. Verification will backfire on us. If someone is bothering you then block them.

I never understood the reason why anyone would add their twitter or Facebook account linked to these sites. Even when you don’t use a real identity, Twitter, Facebook and other social media like it makes it much easier to pinpoint your location I think. Even when using a VPN, I tend to get paranoid a bit I guess lol
I want to be found, to a degree, so I link zooey accounts to make it a little easier and avoid being too dumb on any of them ;)

I also think it is just the default settings of the forum template. I used to run a board back when I was in High School and plenty have these as contact points. I just don't fill them.

I think a lot of the problem of this post is verifying your gender instead of just verifying the member. We could verify that an owner is indeed an owner?

Why do you guys not put these harassing people on ignore?

Sincere question... does me putting someone on ignore block them from seeing my posts and threads? I ask because I've had someone who decided to follow me around the forum to my art thread to make posts about me there as well. If I put this person on ignore... will they be free to say whatever they want about me in my art thread that I started to share my art... without me being able to see that they're posting lies about me?

Because if ignoring them gives them free reign to talk shit about me... and since i cant see it I'm unable to do something about it. I'm totally not in favor of that solution. That just gives an asshole free reign to attack someone in their own threads without the person being attacked being able to see and defend themselves.

Ive always understood "ignore" to mean that I cant see their stuff, but they can still see mine. At other sites I see "block" being used to mean that the other person cant see my posts/threads.

Which way does that operate here?

Please ask a mod for the minute details. I can only tell you that you will get a "you are ignoring stuff by this person" field. Also, there is a little box that tells you a thread contains things by people you are ignoring. And - if you want to - you click it and see that stuff.

But reading your complete post - it's difficult, isn't it? I mean I get what you are saying and think you are honest with arguing this "me and him" structure you are presenting. However, I am noticing that your elaboration would mean you want to have it both ways: If you are able to completely block someone in such a way that they cannot see any of your things - then said person would be in the position that maybe you are " free to say whatever they want about me in my art thread that I started to share my art... without me being able to see that they're posting lies about me? " about them now.

Just pointing that out. Any mechanism must be symmetric here.

What you mention is a valid point, its a complex problem. In my situation, the mods did step in and remove the posts. As for the blocking thing, yes it can be abused, someone clever will find a way to abuse any system in place. In most other sites that I've seen, it restricts both sides from seeing or commenting on either persons stuff. That's how Twitters Block function works for example. You wont be shown their stuff, and they cant see your stuff.

It's not perfect, but it puts both people in the same equal position of not seeing each other. Instead of just one person not being able to see the other, which is how I'm assuming Ignore works currently. Because currently, ignoring someone who's harassing you, can be more harmful than being able to see what they are saying and having the opportunity to counter or report it.
