I really need new friends but I don't know anyone else who shares my non-sexual interests or hobbies.

Tell me your interests. I can tell you where those type of people go, not sure about their sexual preferences though.
 
I have told probably 10 people years ago when I fell in love with my mare. Being crazy in love will do that. All friends and family members still accept me. It is something that is private. I have learned that telling someone may make you feel better for the time being....but then you wished you did not say anything. The other thing is I think it puts a burden on the friend to deal with.
I know people may suspect I love horses way too much as the way I always hug and kiss them....when around them....nobody is doing what I am.....but I just don’t share this secret anymore. It is great to have this forum...and it has been a growing process for me...I’m almost 70....we go through stages in life.

I told quite a few good friends. The ones that I know they wont reject. I feel so happy now. Even sometimes receive small goodies with a hints to zoo. Like this year a calendar with firemen and puppies, mug with Zeta, hoodie with pup ears and etc. My best friends know that im a zoo boy.
 
I’m up to 6 and no one has received me poorly for it, granted most of my coming out has been fairly tactful although explanation is always needed. One of those people happened to be a zoo herself so you just never know where it’s gonna get you! I’m very pro being open as I hate acting/hiding and I encourage anyone who feels the same to be tactful with your words (be and ambassador for the zoo community) and open up to people that love and or accept you.

you probably ment punching bag and not ambassador...
 
I told quite a few, most of them are close friends. Most of my friends found it to be normal. Had two or three people figured out by seeing how close I'm with my dog, they just straight up being curious about it and wonder how it feels ;p
 
Some of my family, previous Friesian Stud owner where I have worked at, my mistake, I left a note in my trouser, his housekeeper found it before she washed my laundry and gave it to him, but we are on speaking terms.
 
I wish I had someone who I could be honest with and talk with face to face
