If people or animals want to have sex with some other consentual being, I have nothing against that, go for it!
Personally, I am a bit of a prude when it comes to a sexual partner. Never liked the one night stand or fuck buddy thing. I prefer when I feel like I belong to my partner. Not as in ownership or something like that, but an emotional bond.
But when that bond is formed I am not a prude when it comes to sex with that person (regardless of species)
I am also extremely faithful to the ones I bond with, might be a bit of a oxymoron as I had both human and canine partner at the same time. It has been more of a "No other human than the one I belong to, no other canine than the one I belong to" deal.

I had to edit my above reply as my newfie girl has let three of my friends mate with her. Lol

But that does kind of circle back to humans considering sex as something that's sacred, while animals do not. Even if I were the "one man with one canine for life" type of person, my canine would likely feel otherwise if given the chance. A male dog is going to take the opportunity to get some pleasure even if it's with someone outside of the pack, and a female will more often than lot allow someone outside of the pack also have their way with her especially when in heat. While you can try to maintain monogamous relationships with them, they are by nature often quite promiscuous.

I had a nice long post written out but then realised my opinions were contradictory and illogical. I guess I have to think more on my position regarding interspecies monogamy and casual sex.

Yes, I had a bit of an emotional dilemma with the old boy as I am not the only female he mated with. But instead of feeling betrayed as I would have if my husband went and dipped it in some other girl, I rationalised it the same way you did, they don't really have the same monogamous mindset as some humans have and decided that I would just accept the situation/relationship for what it was.

There are exactly 1 other person who has been with my girl, and he lives with her, and one other person I would more than likely let it happen is she expressed interest. But other than that as it stands right now it would be a no go by me. Mainly because it takes an unbelievable amount of trust in the other person.

And someone doing something with her behind my back would be a good way for said person to lose their teeth ?

But I think we’ve had this discussion in the past Floof, we’ve always felt pretty differently lol. Which, contrary to some of the dumpster fire regulars beliefs, people can have different opinions and get along ?

Illogical opinions aren't so bad, as emotional responses aren't invalid. They can be very hard to defend though.

I stand by what I said about contradictory opinions though.

It's kind of why I place relationships and sex into two slightly semi-overlapping categories. The relationship you share with your non-human companion is like none other. It's unbridled untainted love between two beings that share a life with one another, even if that life only last 1/5th to 1/7th of your own lifespan. When they are with us there's nothing more pure and more wonderful than that relationship you have with one another. Even if it's one without words, you two still manage to understand one another on a deeper level.

Sex though, I see that as more of a thing where it's valid as long as all parties involved consent to it. Sex is a little more of a transactional trade type of deal. I give you pleasure and in return I also get pleasure as well. It's a win-win situation for the both of us. But that doesn't stop one or more parties from trading with someone else outside of you.

Semi-overlapping in the sense that sex feels more special when it's with the one you have a relationship with. While my newfie girl had no problems making the sex trade (pleasure for pleasure) with someone other than me, I can almost guarantee you that when she has sex with me it likely feels better and definitely more familiar than when she chose to have sex with someone else. Just as, when I've had sex with canines outside of our pack, while mutual fun is mutual fun, it definitely does feel a little more special when you're doing so with someone you spend so much of your life, time, and have poured much of your heart towards. Both sex and relationship exists outside of one another and they are unique in their own right, when they overlap they do tend to enhance one another.
