Nah, I get ya. I didn't grow up with cable so I missed most of the staple childhood cartoons of the 90s/00s. But SpongeBob was one of the few we'd barrow from the library constantly or would purchase on video cassette tapes.

Ah, I see. I guess I was lucky that the only cartoon we weren't allowed to watch was South Park. But my brother and I found out that they would air reruns at like 3am. So we set the VCR to record it on video cassette tape. When we got home from school there was like 40 minutes where no parents were around. We'd watch it in secret like naughty children. Good memories... Lol

Well when Netflix came to the Wii I watched all of pink panther. In the middle of the night I'd sneak down and watch it. Sadly my mom would often catch me since the TV was right below her room

Oddly enough enough my mom didn't mind if we watched Family Guy or The Simpsons. My mom absolutely HATED Family Guy, but still let us watch it. South Park though, that went too far even for her. But hell, we burned through that VHS tape to the point where a new recording would be staticy from degradation.

I was actually allowed to watch a decent amount of tom and jerry. My parents even got me it on DVD. Which is ironic cause it's way more violent than SpongeBob or most other cartoons lmao

Yeah, South Park goes out of its way to be as offensive as possible. Family Guy is a bit more tame by comparison.

Heh, funny you should mention Tom & Jerry. I watched it as a kid as well, but here lately I've been rewatching some of the old and the newer episodes. I'm actually quite surprised that the newer episodes are able to capture what made Tom & Jerry so great. I was expecting them to be watered down.

Those are definitely the best ones for sure. But I honestly went in thinking that the new ones would be super watered down... but nah, it's actually about as violent (slap stick) and chuckle worthy as the older ones were. The older ones are of course better, but I kinda gotta give the new guys some props for keeping the same spirit alive. It definitely exceeded my expectations.

but I don't know what streaming service it's on.
