It's not the time it takes that makes it fancy. A goulash takes about 2,5 hours, but most of the time you just let it simmer and it's not fancy at all.

What can I say, I'm definitely a bit of a home cook myself. I'm lucky I'm not 400lbs by now! Lol

I had to look that up, that's not too common around here. I thought it might have been a troll the lives under a bridge by the sound of the name. Lol

I've definitely prepared some food that takes quite a while to make, but normally I don't because I'm pretty lazy. An example would be these fantastic green beans I occasionally make. Basically you have to slow cook some pig jowl for 1 hour and 45 minutes, until it's tender. Then add in 3-4 cans of green beans and let it cook for an additional 30-40 minutes depending on the thickness of the green beans. Of course I'll add some seasoning in there as well. But overall it's a pretty easy dish to make, and it's tasty! Most of the time spent is away from the stove.

Nope! It wasn't something my family has ever made, although I've had plenty of stews and crockpot meals growing up. From what I've seen online goulash does appear to be tasty looking though.
