Idunno, I've known a handful of autistic people myself and I never really pegged you as displaying some of the behaviors typically exhibited by those that are on the spectrum.

From what I understand it can be a blessing and a curse. Since thinking patters aren't typical many have a "mathematic" and pattern seeking brain. For many, this equates higher levels of intelligence. One of the smartest people I know actually has pretty noticable autism. I'd estimate his IQ to be somewhere in the 130-140 range, not even kidding about that, he has genius levels of computer/science/book knowledge. But his curses are that he's cripplingly socially awkward, it's often hard to have conversations with him because as he puts it "I can hear every single word you're saying, but my brain is struggling to connect meaning to your words. They're not registering correctly." He has severe light and sound sensitivity issues, and he struggles to process his own emotions and will sometimes swing wildly from apathy to being completely overwhelmed with very little in the middle.

But, you learn to sort of accept these odd behaviors. For example I don't take it personally if he ends up "flying off the handle" sometimes. But patience is often needed, something I definitely have a lot of.
