Shoot, it's even worse for me. Since one of the reports are assigned to me specifically it shows "Reports 1/4" and it's always in red. It won't go away until the report is closed!

I've had it glitch and always show red like there's a new report a few times, haven't had a report assigned to me yet but that would definitely get on my nerves rather quickly.

The only time it does that for me is when I go back to the previous page having viewed the reports, it'll still show it as red. The only other time it goes back to red, even if nothing has been updated is when a user with posts on the forum end up getting spammed, even if that user isn't currently, nor has been reported. Other than that, it works as intended.

The other day it kept switching to red every time I'd load a new page, simply wouldn't go away no matter what, but there was a ton of server errors that day as well so it was probably related.
