Also true. Once you got bored with whatever was on the cassette tape, you could take a strip of masking tape and tape over the punched out tab on the bottom to turn it into a read/write cassette instead of just a read only cassette tape. You can't do that with DVDs. So once you're done with them, they become more waste on this planet.
