We all remember the summer of 99' Foxo boi! We all remember!

Well, I'm slow cooking the last two of those low quality ribeye lunch steaks. I found some better steak on sale for the grill, so I figure I'll just chop the cheap steak into small pieces and slow boil them on the stove. I've tossed in some butter, butter salt, black pepper, a little bit of garlic powder, beef tallow, a little bit of seasoning salt, and a little bit of soy sauce. Here in about 20 minutes I'm going to be tossing in some green beans, baby corn, and some mushroom pieces. I'm mainly hoping I didn't add too much beef tallow, too much can really overpower a dish. But I guess I'll find out when it's done cooking.

24511 So far so good! Right now the green beans are in. I tasted one of the chunks of meat and it's very tender. Since the veggies are already cooked (out of a can) it should be done about another 20 minute. I did add a little too much beef tallow, but oh well, I'll live with it. I'll also know not to add so much next time, if this dish ends up being good and I decide to make it again.

24531 Well, it wasn't, quite, what I expected. It did end up being pretty good, but I made 2 mistakes. 1) I added too much beef tallow, so it overpowered some of the other more subtle flavors. 2) The baby corn did not fit in very well at all. Compared to the beef, green beans, and mushrooms, the baby corn kind of stuck out like a sore thumb. The baby corn wasn't bad per se, it just didn't fit in very well. Oh well, you live and you learn when it comes to experimental cooking. If I make a dish like it again, I'll know what not to do next time.
