Nah, I know the feeling. Sometimes one of our core systems will go down at work and often it takes hours for it to be resolved. Those days, at least for those hours, are absolute hell.

I honestly think its every "engineering" style role. Whether sales engineer, solutions engineer, marketing engineer... etc. You're a high level problem solver in a field of expertise and absolutely necessary as a part of retention.

In a sense they are my family indeed. Hey, it's not like I'm dissimilar compared to other millennials, with that generation pet ownership is at a record high, while having babies is at a record low. But indeed a good chunk of my paycheck goes to keeping them happy, healthy, and well taken care of. And damnit, they're worth every dime, nickel, and penny. No regrets!

I respect that and I have no doubt in my mind that its true. Also that generational joke is no BS in looking at the data we currently lead every other generation in pet ownership. Now I also wish home ownership was included in that too but that's a different story.

Indeed, I'm one of the more lucky ones that was able to build enough credit, aquire enough savings, and maintain a reasonably paying job through years and years of effort and hard work to be able to own a home of my own. Well, "own" as it technically belongs to the bank until I finish paying off the mortgage, but I definitely am in no danger of losing it anytime soon.
Although I feel bad for the new wave of youngsters out there now, as hosing prices went from a very ridiculous to absolutely bonkers insane in just a matter of a handful of years.
