Combatting Spam accounts and New Forum Rules.

@ZTHorse Is it possible to edit the error message given to users when they can't join a group because they can't PM? So many posts lately "why can't I join a group?" even though the error does already say that they're unable to send a private message. Clearly it's not enough for them to understand.

@ZTHorse hey random question but would it be possible to put the smiles in the top bar like it is on these threads when private messaging instead of having them hidden in a drop-down menu?

As a guy, I haven't received any harassing PM's but I do seem to attract a few stupid, annoying messages from zero post count users. I won't miss those at all.

BTW, the easiest way to see your post count is just place your mouse pointer on your name or avatar either in any post made by you or in the reply box at the bottom of the page.

I'm sorry but are you saying that I have to make 10 more forum post? I've had this account since June 2020 and I cannot message anyone.

You sure you're not just trying to message people with messaging turned off and/or new accounts that can't message? Cause you're messagable, meaning you're not effected by this restriction.

You know that is very well possible. Can you actually turn off your messaging? The one person I was going to message have been on here for some time. But like you said maybe it's on their end

Private messages can be set up so only people you follow are able to send messages or nobody at all in addition to the standard free for all spamming from everyone.

Yes, you. You count the number of messages you’ve posted, excluding posts in the forum that are mentioned in the OP which isn’t qualified.

Well there are other sites like https://www.zoocommunity.org/ But what do you mean "not what I thought it was."? Apart from the porn sections I think you can access enough of the forum to work out this is not a place for humans to look at animals in fake habitats before you register. But if you want out I'm sure a helpful staff member will be able to assist you.
 
There's spam, shell accounts, and non participators everywhere. I'm rather new to the forum but happy you're doing something to sort out the possible avenues of abuse, while not hurting active users.
