I drive an automatic and it is convienient, however driving stick was a lot of fun and I would go back for sure

@rainyguy woah, good luck! What has made you want to be a trucker?

I'm American and I much prefer manual transmission. Three of my four cars have been manual, and it took me so long to get my current car because it was so hard to find a manual.

I passed exams and got driving licence for automatic gearbox cars. Also I prefer automatic, is much easier to operate while driving.

When I started driving there were no automatics but after they came out that was my favorite. Also I think they are a major safety since you are not shifting gears.

Manual for me.😄
More power to the wheels, more fun, more simplistic.
If auto, a good one like the zf8-hp with flippers at the wheel, or the pdk of porche.

How is shifting gears "unsafe"?

Automatic cars require less skill and attention to drive, so I wouldn't be surprised if statistically, automatic cars are less safe.

Synchronized transmission I vote manual. Just because fun and I don't drive that much.
Non synchronized transmission I opt for automatics. Mostly because they are more safe, and I drive like 10 or more hours a day all week all month all year hauling 50 plus tons. Shifting gets old.

Depend on the car i use.. for relaxing cruising i use the automatic one.. if i like to drive and have fun with a car i use manual..

the best for me is the automatic one with manual function
I tried the virtual gearbox in an electric car it is amazing

I have an electric vehicle that is fun to drive and that I highly prefer over combustion engine cars, so I guess neither?

With combustion engine cars, I prefer manual, 'cause switching gears and rev-matching are also quite fun, the feeling you have of the car and its machinery is great. An automatic ICE I've lent felt unnatural to me as it switching gears whenever it felt like was very noticeable in the momentum and unresponsiveness of the accelerator, things that you'd expect with a manual transmission when you explicitly perform a switch. With an automatic, you just have less control over the car…
