Absolutely. I have before in just a few rare instances. They try to avoid conflict as much as possible so they pass it off as a mistake of some sort. I typically have to be the one to break it off if it happens again and I have to confront them a second time.

I think I did that in college, but - man, bolivian marching powder aside - it sure takes a toll. I'd be a wreck if I tried it now (old and tired)

No way. I'm not a big alcohol drinker but I tried for like 13 hours once to give up coffee and that was the end of that.

If I could figure sustainable lifestyle doing so, or somehow came to tons of money, then yes, absolutely. But without that, purse goes dry eventually..

Contemplating that very thought, my friend. There's a natural end to all careers, and sometimes a professional path can be changed for the better.

WYE consider NOT retiring, and just continuing to work for as long as you possibly could?
