What do you do for exercise and activity?

I do exercises daily and I speed walk 2 miles every day if the weather is permitting. Besides that doing work around the ranch can be a full workout sometimes too.

Backpacking has gone by the wayside, but a LOT more camping now (year round, nothing like a winter campout!). Recently got back to roadwork, so adding miles to my running shoes.

Has anyone made a new year's resolution about getting more fit, or maintaining it?

Work, work, more work. At least I get paid for my exercise so can't complain. In all honesty, I really don't see a need for me to require any sort of exercise outside of work so I just don't. Laziness might play a part in that decision

Same here, work + keeping my dog exercised is already enough to leave me exhausted every day. Lets me be lazy when I'm at home ?

It was last years NY resolution.
I have a pain condition that makes it hard for me to do the exercise I used to do. Yoga and walking mostly. It was freaking me out that I was putting on weight so I decided a year ago to eat only between the hours of 4 and 7 pm every day. I have done that for over a year now. And what I eat is whole healthy food. And it has been surprisingly easy.

I am so used to it now that at Christmas it was impossible for me to eat even half of what everyone else did. I ended up feeling like I had cement in my belly.

And we might finally have an answer to the pain thing. I mean a cure. So I can also get back into other more energetic expression of Minxen.

?‍♂️! I haven't been under a serious pack in a year, but the miles are piling up on my ? !

I work a very physical job, huffing 55 Gal drums full of "shelf expired" food stuffs, for the Animals at the Safari Park.

Ha! Similar here. I take the truck out once a week on a night route, collecting food salvage from my 'participating restaurants'. Whatever they cooked and didn't sell. The dogs are spoiled beyond measure. They live on human-grade feed. BBQ, pizza, rices, meat & potatoes. Brisket, sausage, chicken, racks of ribs, and more. The hogs get similar + breads, donuts, rices, and vegetables from asian places. The cows used to be on beer grain from a local brewery co-op, an arrangement I miss and hope to find again when I start another calf.

I love the recycling of it, saving perfectly good food that would otherwise go to a landfill. It weighs heavy on my mind how much food the world wastes. I could cry when I think of the resources going into growing, harvesting, shipping, refrigerating all this food just for so much of it to go straight from food chain to landfill, unconsumed. I multiply the pittance I pick up in these little Texas towns across every restaurant, in every city, every state. Unfathomable volumes of waste. Hell if I hit the right places at the right times, the stuff's still hot, even! So what began as a way to feed the hogs has snowballed to feed a whole farm, and the labor amounts to an unpaid part-time job. It takes 2 refrigerators running and I'm looking to add a third. Good to see someone else making the effort. ??

I burn calories by playing violin - most weekdays I end up playing roughly two and a half hours in public. My other activity helps my violin playing - arm, back, and shoulder strength training with dumbbells.

My chiropractor today suggested doing ten pushups daily to improv my body's strength for holding myself on top of someone and stimulating them with the other hand during sex. We'll see where that goes! I'm terrible at pushups but motivated now ;)

Hey, cool question..I got started jogging when I lived in Phoenix but stopped. I've always walked. And I used to ride a bicycle everywhere. I want to get a bicycle again. I also do stuff like squats, knee ups and walking with 5lb weights in both hands, maybe pushups or repeated lifts of my 20 lb weight if I'm feeling hulkish. I used to do Kenpo but that had to end and I now am learning Tai Chi.
