What book(s) are you reading at the moment?

"Warum ich niemals für mein Land kämpfen werde" by Ole Nymoen

It's a hard read, he's getting quite a few things wrong and hasn't done much research.

Stephen King Brennen muss Salem
I'm guessing that would be the german translation of "'Salem's Lot"? Trying google translate hands me back "Salem must burn", which, while it does at least SORT OF apply, isn't quite what I expected - I'd have taken a guess at a translation something more or less like "Anteil von Salem", or perhaps "GrundStück von Salem"?

Any other voracious book readers out there? If not, I’ll shut the thread down...

I’m currently reading:
Billion Dollar Whale by Bradley Hope and Tom Wright
Financial Vipers of Venice by Joseph P. Farrell
Not an avid book reader but I’m about to start ready the Prose Edda. It’s about Norse mythology

Currently reading Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. I quite enjoyed Fourth Wing, so now I'm digging into the sequel. Would recommend.

Back when that book came out the translators didn't really bother that much with correct or more or less direct translations. They went for style.
And, here in germany, Brennen muss Salem, sounds really good and it has an implicit meaning of evil and something not right. It's just the sound of the phrase and heritage knowledge about the witch hunts.

I've read/listened to Alien - Seventh Circle,
I've read "Warum ich niemals für mein Land kämpfen würde" (Why I'd never fight for my country, not a good book),
I'm going to read "Freikorps" and "Interceptors: The Untold Fight Against the Mexican Cartels"

am almost at the end of 1Q84 by Murakami at the moment... it's a long but exciting one. tried starting on it a few years ago but i wasn't ready/in the mood for the heavy subject material at the time... now im glad i continued with the story. tried starting his newest book, The city and its uncertain walls the other day, but i wasn't vibing with it... possibly the only one of his i haven't immediately gotten sucked into...

Might continue with Anna Karenina next... also been reading Polysecure by Jessica Fern, for any interested in that lifestyle... also a lot of just generally good ideas and considerations for any relationship style and general sense of mental wellbeing...

Really appreciated your beautiful writing in the two dolphin chapters that you wrote too! It got me excited to try writing my own fantasies :)
