I did mod the game to be a sex-heavy game once or twice.
One thing is for sure... if you want a lot of mods, you need patience, experience, and an understanding of how it works...
The mod community is great, but one thing they lack is a consistent way of doing things. I mean many do try to stick to one or two essential scripts and mods that they build upon, but then there are the ones that just do the way they want/can. For example dicks... I never knew which mod/animation needs which dick mod... and even if it was clearly said in the mod description, that A animation pack needs X penis mod, and you want more variety of animations and you want B animation pack, it might not like X penis mod but rather Y or even a whole nude suit mod that just breaks your already working X mod and you end up with a Ken doll. Why? No idea...
The thing is, it is fun after you get over the brain-frying bugs, conflicts, and errors and you get it to work... and you don't expect perfection... It will always feel janky and strange, almost lame at places.
A good way to mod it would be to start with a few mods only and set it up with a mod manager, then launch it, test them if they work, repair any errors, or issues, and then add mods one by one... (well with their requirements of course.) Takes too much time for me to go through it again.
Also do look up what game versions the mods you want can run on... If the ones you really want to play with run on an older version you might have to sacrifice other mods or their features that don't run on that version of the game. (Also DLC requirements are serious.)
