How bad can it get? Depends on too many factors to even START trying to list them all. Suffice to say, the *LEAST* of your worries, should you get outed (never mind arrested - that's likely to be a merciful option by comparison), is getting your ass beat (probably repeatedly) by the local redneck crowd. Working up from there, we've got getting beat to shit, then being forced to watch as your critter is tortured and/or killed outright, non-stop "Get the hell out of town, you sick fuck" harassment that never gets "seen" by the cops - even if they're sitting across the street watching as it happens, jail time ranging from months to decades to life, fines of who-the-hell-knows-how-many-thousands of dollars (variable by jurisdiction) registration as a sex offender, having a felony record (variable by jurisdiction) and in some of the more extreme places (nowhere in America, but who gives a shit about THAT little detail) flat-out "You have been sentenced to death by <pick a creative, unpleasant, probably medieval method>... Do I really need to go on?

Some places DO outlaw possession of animal/human porn. Others don't. Without knowing where you are (no, I'm not interested in hearing) there's no way to give a useful answer what the status is for you.

Which says nothing about any critters you might have, who will probably be confiscated (and you barred from ever having unsupervised contact with an animal again) sexually mutilated, and/or outright killed because since you fucked them (or they fucked you, as applicable) they're somehow "contaminated", and thus not safe for anyone else to have contact with. If nothing else, that factor alone should prompt you to smarten up FAST - unless, of course, it's just a kinky thing for you to do, and you don't actually give a fuck about their well-being. (In which case, by my personal feelings on the subject, the sooner you cease being part of this "community", such as it is, the better)

VPN isn't PERFECT. NOTHING is. TOR does a good job, assuming you've done a proper setup, and you don't fuck up in using it. It was developed by the US government specifically to obscure traffic patterns, and has been "tweaked" by the civilian market in ways that make it pretty damned secure. Nowhere near perfect, but one helluva lot better than the death-wish of using a phone with zero protection.

actually what your are saying is correct also with that cellphone id highly suggest you destroy it properly and use a vpn with tor and be very careful with using this site and look up how to browse anonymously online there is a plethora of info on the subject even cyber security experts that will give advice as well. also make sure you have burner phones on hand and money if you have to disappear as well you never know when youll need it these days.
 
At one time I think animal sex porn was the #1 searched topic on the internet. I don't think big brother is that big to trace all those down.

I should use a VPN, but I figure a small risk as I do not upload anything, other than text. God I barely even look at the porn on this site. Too old now I guess. Maybe a been there done that sort of thing so many times.

You've probably encountered him, especially if you're new. He seems to prowl newbie posts: he most frequently says most users are trolls (except him OF COURSE). He doesn't tell you where he's from, but if you post in the personals he'll respond like he's from the same area (I checked his posts and he's responded to I think 3 different states from what I saw). Be safe everybody. And remember, if anyone calls you a freak: own it like your favorite underwear.

A little note on DEVICE SECURITY:

Even if you properly use TOR to obscure your internet traffic, you gain very little if you use a device that's reporting your activity to the big tech. This includes all things Apple, anything Microsoft, Google's Android. Either phones or desktops.

There's a simple solution - set up yourself a dedicated Linux laptop, use it only for the stuff that's supposed to be hidden. It's safe, it's simple, it's not as scary as you think. I recommend TAILS, a nice Linux distro with properly set up TOR.

Bonus points if you use a machine which does not have the Intel's Management Engine, which is a known backdoor. This requires some more effort however as pretty darn much every relatively new machine has it.

Oh, and do encrypt all your drives. Linux does this out-of-the-box with no special effort.

Linux doesn't do that out of the box without special effort, you have to select the options during install. Maybe tails does, but that's just one distro. Thinking everything is just fine if you use linux can actually do more harm because you get careless. It is work to set up a linux computer, but not so much you can't do it. I recommend going by step-by-step tutorials geared to the distribution you choose, they generally have those linked on their homepage.

Ubuntu has got to be the most n00b friendly distro out there.
Mint is a good second and a heckuva lot lighter footprint. You also have the option of "Debian Edition" if you want to play outside the repositories.
 
I'm just curious as to why there is so much fright concerning your sexual orientation. I understand for the people who want to remain in a morally respectable position. But I personally do not have a fear of what the government and third parties know about me which is probably almost everything. But how could they really use it against me? I accept who I am and do not feel I need to mask who I am. I am generally alone and do not need company. There is plenty company within the zoo community who I can respect. It's people such as myself who go to the Frontline to try and push forward the representation and the feelings associated with it. I've accepted my desire of stallions and I will not cower over ego. Because it could be uncovered that they actually had sex with a animal which is most likely illegal where they live. So it would mean thay'd lose their animal and face draconic punishment, as a worldwide forum you even have to say maybe death. If it was just a blow to public reputation it would be no problem - though that also might lead to losing your animal because you can't afford it anymore.

Solid advice list, but with this point I'd like to say Nord VPN is pretty shady and I wouldn't trust them - there was a big hack in 2019 and they took a pretty long time to inform the users and even their aggressive marketing campaign is suspicious.

I am using Norton (Symantec) to keep virus a.s.o. away and the VPN is always on, not only here.
And always clear the browser after been on ZV.
But if anybody has knowledge that Norton VPN have problems, please let me hear.
 
I use TOR, as I assume most of you guys do as well.
I do use a Windows device, because, well... I'm poor.

I've wondered how much I've been watched over the years by [insert surveillance group name here] but all in all, nothing has happened. Although, I haven't done anything illegal. Viewing zoo porn is "okay" but possessing it is a grey area where I am, from what I understand.
Engaging in it, abetting it, and producing zoo porn is outright illegal, which I guess my inexperience leaves me in a bit more of a favorable position. Because I haven't broken any laws in my state, and don't reeeeally have any plans to. (Not that I'm accusing anyone here of that.)
Unless new laws pass that make viewing zoo porn outright banned and punishable, I don't think I personally have much to be concerned with. Except of course, for the possibility of new laws passing.

The bigoted and willful misunderstanding of a sexual interest in non-humans can be argued by us all we want, but at the end of the day, the argument is being aimed at brick walls. Even fantasy talk is sort've seen as immoral, despite furry communities being more accepted than ever.

I'm sure we're all familiar with To Catch a Predator. I'm by no means comparing any zoophile to predators, please bear in mind. But every time a predator is caught, they were very, very careless. Personal emails, no VPNs, personal phone numbers, various other personal details, showing up in person, etc. Even though Chris Hanson probably won't be asking any of us to take a seat because we showed up expecting a dog owner we met online anytime soon, a bit of common sense will go a long way.

And perhaps the biggest thing is to keep the actual physical abusers of animals out of this community. I don't think there's many of us that like being swept into the same category as some of the more sick folks who downright torture animals. And having a good sense of what screams "catfish." Neighborhood watch definitely needs to be everyone's responsibility. I guess that's the tax of Zooville.

HEAVILY dependant on the exact jurisdiction you're in. Anything from a misdemeanor charge with a (relatively) small fine and/or a few months or a year in the clink, all the way up to life - yep, you read that right - LIFE - in prison (Michigan's maximum sentence, though it hasn't actually been imposed in my memory, despite being on the books) and almost always a slot with your name on it in the sex offender's registry.

Outside the US, anything from "Naughty naughty! Don't do it again!", to fines and jail/prison terms, to caning/flogging, to being stoned (and I ain't talking about smoking too much weed) to death.

I use TOR with a VPN for browsing ZV, (I like the idea that TOR runs out of system memory and does not store anything to disk, insta flush on reboot). However, recently, when I run it (or FF or any other security based browser) it directs to htts://zovilleforum.net as it should, but dumps a heading about http://nginx.org/ instead of the ZV homepage. I guess this is related to the security settings, but thats the whole point!

Logged in via Chrome Incognito to write this. Not my ideal choice. Any one any ideas on this?

I don’t use TOR but always VPN. I have written administrator about this, because two days ago this happened.
That ‘ZooVilleforum.net’ began to link to ‘Nginx.org’
Now I write ‘https://Zoovilleforum.net’ and it seem to work.

I still have the issue. Any browser than is more security concious does the same thing. It seems to be a site side issue, but lets see what happens.

Wait a minuite. I been looking up zoo for some time at my house. I should use incription? how? thing is my boot ssd drive died of natural causes I havent looked at anything since but have on my phone witch i had for like several months now. would like help with this. I never thought about it. . .

Depends entirely on how illegal this stuff is where you live. If you risk a multi year sentence just for looking at this stuff, yeah you should probably use encryption.
