GENERAL POSTING

1. Do not use an identifiable avatar. This includes faces, tattoos, fursuits (especially if they are not yours)

2. Review every picture, every video you post multiple times. Look for identifiable things; houses, barns, unique saddles, collars with or without tags, pictures, furniture, mail, packages, collectibles, mirrors or anything can reflect your face or body, absolutely anything that can be used as identification.

3. If you have a unique pet, be very, very careful. If you have posted normal pictures anywhere, like facebook, twitter, ect., do not post him here or anywhere zoo themed. Even if you delete the social media pics, it's too late. ( Familiarize yourself with Reverse Image Search, what it is, and how it can be used against you )

4. Be careful with the information you post. Anyone with enough patience can piece together little things through pictures, descriptions, email addresses, anything to pinpoint who you are.

5. Use an email that is not attached to anything. Do not use real name, and do not setup a password recovery phone number or alternate email. Make yourself an absolute stand alone free email account and do not use it for anything else but zoo. Not even furry or fursuit related sites or accounts.

ONLINE SECURITY

1. Public IP addresses can be used to track your general location. We Recommend a VPN service like Nord VPN to mask your IP. ALWAYS USE VPN!

2. Use Strong Passwords on your ZooVille Account.

3. Whatsapp and Discord are NOT recommended services for private off-site chat. They have been known to be leaked and report info on users.

4. Telegram and Signal are considered safe in of themselves, however always used a VPN when logging onto telegram and also be wary of phishing for your IP address with external HTML links. This has been used before to catch users NOT using VPN on telegram or Signal.

5. Public telegram links to group chats are allowed here on zooville if you own a group (see site rules), however be aware that bestiality is illegal in many countries. Law enforcement can phish users out into private chats is a common way to trace and doxx your identity. TRUST and RESPONSIBILITY is on your hands for whomever private chats you join.

-encrypt your stuff even if you dont have anything illegal
-if youre going to meet someone do years of personal research and never meet for sexual reasons in the first place
-never post sexual pics online for a group or a forum
-never share sexual pics where you or your animals could be identified
-never share personal content if you havent met irl and are sure about each others intentions

maybe one can break of or two above but not all

Thank you so much for your knowledge...not just for anyone, but everyone visiting foreign sites outside there own country....many out there to enjoy safe in a secure playing field. Like to see more safety measures taken for everyone's enjoyment. This is a special place where reality is real sensitive opening secrets will hold. Again, thank you!

When I was younger and dumber I would just straight up google horse dicks with no VPN/encryption lol.

I use TOR browser for anything Zoo related now but I don't have dedicated VPN like Nord. Will I be fine for the most part just using an encrypted browser like TOR for browsing ZV?.

Thanks for the info.

As long as there is. Thing here that can be used to identify you and you don't have anything revealing your hardware specifications you should be fine. But if you don't know what I mean by hardware specifications then try looking into a virtual system (if I am remembering that right).

Yes I'm aware of virtual machines. After reading a load of threads on Reddit I've come to the conclusion that a VPN is not required while using a Tor browser and it can actually compromise your privacy as some VPN companies can log your browsing data on Tor. :/

Tor Browser is the safest available method. It is built on Firefox ESR and highly customized to protect you in ways a standard browser can't. But web browsers all have flaws, so it's still possible to find and exploit those flaws to escape the browser to the host operating system and reveal who you are. The way to mitigate that possibility is to increase the security level in Tor Browser from 'Standard' to 'Safer' or 'Safest' and try to put up with websites being kind of messed up. It varies from site to site.

If you're really concerned about that kind of intrusion, you have to run Tor Browser in a disposable environment like TAILS or Qubes-whonix. TAILS is easy, Qubes is hard. Try TAILS sometime if you haven't, it's pretty nice.

It's more nuanced than that. Combining Tor with a VPN hurts performance, offers little to no extra protection, and is only useful in rare circumstances. There are two combinations. The "X" marks a connection that is outside the Tor network and not protected by Tor:

(You) <---> (VPN) <---> (Tor) <-x-> (Website)

In this case, the VPN provider is not able to read your Tor traffic. Your connection to Tor is highly resistant to man-in-the-middle attacks. This is one of Tor's most important features because it enables you to use internet connections you don't trust.

Maybe do this if your local network is blocking Tor traffic but not VPN connections, and only after trying to connect to Tor directly with an unpublished Tor Bridge first.

Maybe do this if you're unable to turn off WebRTC without breaking a website you want to use. Certain functions in WebRTC can leak your real IP, so in that case a VPN could offer a little bit of protection. This only applies other browsers you are connecting to Tor by proxy, which you should never do unless absolutely forced, and to Tor Browsers on iOS which all have to use Apple's Safari browser underneath.

(You) <---> (Tor) <-x-> (VPN) <-x-> (Website)

In this case, the VPN provider is able to read your Tor traffic, because it has already left the Tor network. However, the VPN will only see that it is traffic coming from a Tor exit node, and the VPN will know who you are because you subscribed to them. Some VPNs like Mullvad allow anonymous signup and payment. The content of your traffic could reveal enough personal information for others to deanonymize you.

Doing this is a bad idea and the need for it is very rare. Basically it's a way to hide the fact you're using Tor from a website that blanket blocks connections from Tor exit nodes, since exit nodes are well known. However you lose some anonymity because your traffic is more unique and interesting. To an outside observer, you are no longer a Tor user with traffic coming from a Tor exit node like all the others, you're a VPN user with regular traffic on one side and Tor traffic on the other. That's not great.

In either case you are creating nested TCP connections, which can be very finicky and slow.

You are a smart cookie!. You have explained it way better than the plebs on Reddit hehe. I'll just be sticking with Tor for now then and slap it on "safe" mode.

Thank you! :husky_wink:

Tor Browser>>VPN

I am using duck go and a VPN....is that safe?
There's only one possible answer without knowing *EXACT* details of both your setup, the internal workings of the VPN provider you use (which nobody but the VPN provider itself can give, and you damn-well better believe they're *NOT* going to do that) and the abilities and funding of anybody who might be trying to monitor your traffic (either before or after it dives into the VPN): Maybe.

There's simply no such thing as an absolutely safe communication method online unless that communication is encrypted using *WELL PROVEN* encryption methods before it leaves your machine, and remains that way until the intended person decrypts it on their machine. And even that has the drawback that there's no way to be absolutely certain that your chosen encryption method hasn't been broken by "somebody" (NSA? CIA? The Russian government? Chinese hackers?)

Out of curiosity, other than ostracism , shunnings etc... What are the fines/incarceration? Let's say EU and North America. How bad can it get?

I don't use vpn or nothing on my phone browser Willynilly but I also don't give a fuck what people think of my porn habits. someone explain?

Also echelon makes vpn/tor an imaginary security, like the guy above said, if someone wants to know, they will.

How bad can it get? Depends on too many factors to even START trying to list them all. Suffice to say, the *LEAST* of your worries, should you get outed (never mind arrested - that's likely to be a merciful option by comparison), is getting your ass beat (probably repeatedly) by the local redneck crowd. Working up from there, we've got getting beat to shit, then being forced to watch as your critter is tortured and/or killed outright, non-stop "Get the hell out of town, you sick fuck" harassment that never gets "seen" by the cops - even if they're sitting across the street watching as it happens, jail time ranging from months to decades to life, fines of who-the-hell-knows-how-many-thousands of dollars (variable by jurisdiction) registration as a sex offender, having a felony record (variable by jurisdiction) and in some of the more extreme places (nowhere in America, but who gives a shit about THAT little detail) flat-out "You have been sentenced to death by <pick a creative, unpleasant, probably medieval method>... Do I really need to go on?

Some places DO outlaw possession of animal/human porn. Others don't. Without knowing where you are (no, I'm not interested in hearing) there's no way to give a useful answer what the status is for you.

If you're fool enough to use a phone to connect to a site like this, you're BEGGING to get busted. Even moreso if you're "running barefoot". AT THE VERY LEAST, get set up with a reputable VPN provider. There's no certainty there, but at least it's a layer of (probably) safety between you and everybody finding out you're into fucking dogs. Whether YOU care who knows what your porn habits are is irrelevant. What IS relevant is the 27.2 metric fuck-tons of shit that can, and likely will, be dumped on your head if the word gets out that you *MIGHT* be one of those goddamned perverted animal fucking freaks. Which says nothing about any critters you might have, who will probably be confiscated (and you barred from ever having unsupervised contact with an animal again) sexually mutilated, and/or outright killed because since you fucked them (or they fucked you, as applicable) they're somehow "contaminated", and thus not safe for anyone else to have contact with. If nothing else, that factor alone should prompt you to smarten up FAST - unless, of course, it's just a kinky thing for you to do, and you don't actually give a fuck about their well-being. (In which case, by my personal feelings on the subject, the sooner you cease being part of this "community", such as it is, the better)

VPN isn't PERFECT. NOTHING is. TOR does a good job, assuming you've done a proper setup, and you don't fuck up in using it. It was developed by the US government specifically to obscure traffic patterns, and has been "tweaked" by the civilian market in ways that make it pretty damned secure. Nowhere near perfect, but one helluva lot better than the death-wish of using a phone with zero protection.

Yes, I know, I'm harsh, I'm a prick, etc, etc, etc - Save us all the effort. I've heard it all before, and your rendition of that same tired old song will just catch you a gong. You[ll also find, should you hang around long enough to find out, that I'm not only an asshole, I'm an EXPERIENCED asshole who doesn't really much give a fuck if someone doesn't like the good advice I pass out 'cause it isn't all unicorn farts and rainbows. I say it like I see it, and if that stings, well... Life's tough. Get a helmet.

Lol

My bad I didn't phrase it precise enough for you. "what are the legal ramifications in the western world, by region? "

Also you're not an asshole. Just loud and desperate to be one to look hard.

Also 100% of electronic world transmission is monitored. You're just not high on the priority list.

That's why I don't bother with vpn.

actually what your are saying is correct also with that cellphone id highly suggest you destroy it properly and use a vpn with tor and be very careful with using this site and look up how to browse anonymously online there is a plethora of info on the subject even cyber security experts that will give advice as well. also make sure you have burner phones on hand and money if you have to disappear as well you never know when youll need it these days.

At one time I think animal sex porn was the #1 searched topic on the internet. I don't think big brother is that big to trace all those down.

I should use a VPN, but I figure a small risk as I do not upload anything, other than text. God I barely even look at the porn on this site. Too old now I guess. Maybe a been there done that sort of thing so many times.

I don't think I'll ever try to meet others again, vbut if I did I'd follow the aforementioned rules, plus I'd ask for a blowjob first. Maybe in a McDonald's bathroom. HaHa!

never share personal content if you havent met irl and are sure about each others intentions
This one I followed tonight. Guy was calling me a freak, fake, fat, etc because I wouldn't add him on Snapchat. For clarification, we only started talking this morning. You've probably encountered him, especially if you're new. He seems to prowl newbie posts: he most frequently says most users are trolls (except him OF COURSE). He doesn't tell you where he's from, but if you post in the personals he'll respond like he's from the same area (I checked his posts and he's responded to I think 3 different states from what I saw). Be safe everybody. And remember, if anyone calls you a freak: own it like your favorite underwear.

Report him to the mods and let them decide if he's a repeat offender (y)

A little note on DEVICE SECURITY:

Even if you properly use TOR to obscure your internet traffic, you gain very little if you use a device that's reporting your activity to the big tech. This includes all things Apple, anything Microsoft, Google's Android. Either phones or desktops.

There's a simple solution - set up yourself a dedicated Linux laptop, use it only for the stuff that's supposed to be hidden. It's safe, it's simple, it's not as scary as you think. I recommend TAILS, a nice Linux distro with properly set up TOR.

Bonus points if you use a machine which does not have the Intel's Management Engine, which is a known backdoor. This requires some more effort however as pretty darn much every relatively new machine has it.

Oh, and do encrypt all your drives. Linux does this out-of-the-box with no special effort.

Linux doesn't do that out of the box without special effort, you have to select the options during install. Maybe tails does, but that's just one distro. Thinking everything is just fine if you use linux can actually do more harm because you get careless. It is work to set up a linux computer, but not so much you can't do it. I recommend going by step-by-step tutorials geared to the distribution you choose, they generally have those linked on their homepage.

Ubuntu has got to be the most n00b friendly distro out there.
Mint is a good second and a heckuva lot lighter footprint. You also have the option of "Debian Edition" if you want to play outside the repositories.

I'm just curious as to why there is so much fright concerning your sexual orientation. I understand for the people who want to remain in a morally respectable position. But I personally do not have a fear of what the government and third parties know about me which is probably almost everything. But how could they really use it against me? I accept who I am and do not feel I need to mask who I am. I am generally alone and do not need company. There is plenty company within the zoo community who I can respect. It's people such as myself who go to the Frontline to try and push forward the representation and the feelings associated with it. I've accepted my desire of stallions and I will not cower over ego. I will live proud until I die.

Society; western society have been poisoned us and trapped into their ideas to dominate us in so many ways while on other places are totally legal without preconceptions in other places are legal not just zoo ,
I am congratulating people that still trapped to someone ideas (society) and not growing mentally… live life, be free.
Have some wings off freedom respectfully.
