Consent or instinct?

Hey there! So, there's a question that has been on my mind for a long time, and I need to ask it:
My Aussie girl loves to lick me down there as soon as I get naked, she'll directly put her muzzle there and start licking my junk, whether I'm hard or not. If I'm masturbating and she's nearby, she'll come in and lick exactly the tip until I (really quickly) cum on her snout or in her mouth.
The problem is that I can't get out of my head that she's acting on her instincts and that I'm taking advantage of that and her purity.
Am I the only one to feel that way? Where do you draw the line between consent and instinct?
Thanks a lot for your answers ❤️🦊

Consent in animals is one of those things that you can find a lot of opinions and written material on. But if she seems happy with what you are doing together, and she is the one seeking you out, I'd say it's pretty clear that she's consenting to what is going on.

Which instinct?
Because animals do not typically perform oral sex on each other for sexual purposes if at all.

I have two dogs. One does the exact same thing as yours and the other has 0 interest in me. I would say your girl is definitely acting off interest. Hope that helps❤️

Very few animals in nature preform oral sex. The fact that shes running to you and ingaging shows she wants to be around you when your naked, masturbating, etc. Its a choice.

The real question is whether she is doing it cause she likes your taste or if shes cleaning you. Many species keep themselves clean and groom each other. But dogs aren't really known for that. Licking is a very affectionate thing for them. Thats why they lick your face, or a wound, or even your dick.

In wolves females do tend to lick their partners and pups more than males. In order to show affection and devotion. Which is what I see when I think about your situation. Shes showing affection. If you were truely taking advantage of her than she would deny you occasionally. Lick her back and show that you admire her devotion, it will help you get to know her even better.

Body language is the ultimate level of understanding. Unlike humans who hide what we think behind our actions, dogs act based on how they feel. They do not know how to manipulate. So their actions are pure. I hope this helps.

Understanding body language in animals is hard, but is the most rewarding. Even to non-zoos. Cause it tells us everything. Whats wrong, whats right, what we could do better. But we often overthink what those sutle actions may mean.

Don't be afraid to mix your communication with actions too. Words are a human invention and so trying something different can bridge the gap ans bring you much closer. And at the end of the day thats what she wants too. The key is being patient. Reading body language is trial and error and often comes easier to some rather than others. But even your attempt will not go unnoticed by her.

I think you’ll find that it’s more common than you initially think. It’s actually quite common. Not for the reason of pleasure usually, but even that happens. Dolphins, donkeys, are just two examples I can think of who use their muzzle to get off.

This is true, what I meant was done to each other. Rarely you see coordinated oral sex. Most of it is self-oral. I should have clarified, my apologies.

If your dog is enjoying the activity with you, who cares what it is. Your dog may not understand that you are cumming from sexual pleasure from her tongue, but she does understand that you really enjoy the activity together and she enjoys doing it with you. That's a form of consent as she is willingly taking part. She may even just think "hey he likes this when I do it and his flesh stick shoots a nice treat at some point! Bonus!".

Baiting or forcing your dog to do something they normally wouldn't want to engage in or enjoy is the complete opposite of consent.

My thought is this: sex is instinct, when it is not instinctive then it is prostitution. It is also instinctive to procure sexual pleasure. Maybe monkeys can consciously sell themselves for something... For the food... Or for a hierarchical position... Maybe even dolphins or some other animal... But in most cases it is pure instinct. But this does not mean that they do not do it for pure pleasure, on the contrary, precisely because an instinctive act it is only for pleasure!

I've seen a video of boy dogs 69 each other... So sometimes they have an idea if oral pleasure, but probably not all dogs. ( feel like mine doesn't, and I am infact corrupting her a bit, I think she does it because she knows I like it, and it's tasty for her. )

Only humans ask moral questions, animals really don't care, they're either do it if it benefits/pleasures them or not. There's no room for morals that are built in a artificial society of people who don't understand it.

Let's look at it from a natural perspective. Is it safe? Yes. Does it benefit/pleasure for you two? Absolutely. Then it's good for both of you

Is consent being accounted for when buying a puppy, going to a vet, taking a bath, deciding what to eat, etc.? The short answer is no. By most legal standards, animals are property, until they suddenly aren't, and somebody can arbitrarily decide to punish you either for not treating cattle like fluffy people (you're abusing them!), or for not treating fluffy people as cattle (you're wasting the company's profits!). They have a separate beatstick for each case. Does it make logical sense? No. Can something be done about it? In the immediate short term, also no.

So if animal consent can't be trusted even in non-sexual terms, then is it not that we need to ask ourselves, what's the point of consent in the first place? This is a question that you can answer for yourself, but to me, it seems like the ultimate goal to strive for in animal care is to avoid harm/danger and to maximize an animal's wellbeing within practically achievable terms. This wellbeing would be both objective (animal is in good health) and subjective (animal enjoys, or at least outwardly expresses that it enjoys, the situation it's in). The former is the vet's job to assess; the latter is the animal's owner's job to assess. "Consent" seems like a well-intended but misguided tool to secure this goal, one that in real life mostly only restricts zoos and almost nobody else. How often are there vegan activists protesting the lack of informed cattle consent in front of abattoirs?

So what's the best thing an individual can do for an animal in present time? If it's impossible to ask the animal, then... wait, is it really impossible to ask the animal? Like what would the animal do if it had to decide for itself, and wasn't being held back by people? One simple way to find out - stop holding it back and let it act out its will by itself. Is that not what happened here?

Reason vs instinct is a false dichotomy. Even in humans, you can't cleanly separate rational consent from instinct. My instinct tells me to eat a bag of chips, even though I rationally know it's arguably unhealthy for me. What decision will make me more satisfied? Will I regret my decision to eat a bag of chips? Should Doritos be held morally accountable for me potentially getting atherosclerosis due to me eating a bag of chips?

I think it's something that comes purely from animal instinct. Dogs are guided by smells and tastes, and human skin is naturally salty, which attracts them, or it's curiosity. Licking is also their way of showing affection, submission, or just seeking attention.

I don't see this as 'consent,' but rather as an instinctive behavior. The animal doesn't understand the human context; it's just acting like a dog.

I open to responses!
