For around an hour, I was unable to access the forum through both Zooville.org and Zoovilleforum.net. When I just tried accessing directly through Zoovilleforum.net, it tried to download a file that was 0.06kb, titled "Download". Did anyone else have that issue?
I wasn't able to get logged in either for over an hour, don't know what was going on.

It kept giving me a "connection aborted" error
Seems it was a ddos. I couldn't at least ping the server

Gotcha. Any idea what that download file is? It still pops up when I type in just "zoovilleforum.net" in an incognito tab, it takes me to the download popup, but when I type in the full "https://www.zoovilleforum.net" it goes straight to the website.
Could be related to the heavy load. I tried it through chrome and it went to the SSL page.

Actually if I type the non SSL page it shows a .bin file.
There are notes about it on linus sever as something missconfigured in the server and trying to load parts of it or... whatever.

I was wondering the same thing. Browsing to "Zooville.net" resulted in a automatic download of a 57kb file. It was weird.

If you read any of my other stories you'll see that I set the scene in some detail before beast action.
I'm disappointed as I put a lot of effort into this tale,for nought it seems.

Banning E-Mail providers, only listing three prominent ones and adding „a few others“ in the statement doesn’t really help in finding out why the heck the confirmation E-Mail wasn’t sent back. Next time add a Link to a list of all banned providers in the headline when asking for confirmation. I have sent several requests but got no help until I realized that „a few others“ meant also my provider.
Nonetheless, I have switched to Proton, whatever shady business is being done with them.
TLDR: if your confirmation E-Mail won’t be sent to you, maybe your provider has been banned.

Yes, Proton.me is good alternative and the one I had to take to connect to Zoovilleforum is the one above, before I had to create a Microsoft/ Outlook/ Hotmail address and none worked to register here, Proton have as many services as Google, but they are unknown to the public most.

That's been gone for years. Pretty sure it was cause the animal rescue in florida, zooville, threw a fit.

You need 10 counted postings. As such not in the "Fun & Games" category, but the regular areas of the forum.
That might have been a change of the recent years, as such in 2019 not yet established. But as it is in effect nowadays, that's what you need to do.
After you reach 10 postings, you might want to wait a while until the change is in effect (Just checked it, might be that you don't get a notice / alert, but it changes in the background after a while). After that PMs are open again.
Nope, not a bug. Your PM ability has been restricted due to not having 10 counted posts on the forum. Basically any account created after July 21st, 2021 got this restriction, however we are slowly getting to the older accounts with less than 10 counted posts and manually removing the access until you reach 10 posts. When the updated ruleset was put in place, prior accounts got grandfathered in. If you manage to make 10 posts (excluding fun and games, profile posts, and group posts) on the forum, you'll get your ability to PM back.
