#ZOOPRIDE

Hell yeah!

I've always wished that those who are less into porn/nothing but sex could find their voice. Maybe not through some big zoo pride event or anything, but more of like, i dunno, a sub movement to talk about the other aspects of being zoo. The loneliness that it can lead to, coming to terms with living in a non zooey world, finding subtle ways to improve things (like supporting stores and spaces that allow animals inside).
Like what the early lgbt pride groups were about, before they got big.

A lot of the old zoos can get pretty cranky about this from what i've seen, (lol i wonder how many responses ill get from them. They tend to not leave their computers much these days!)....

But i've seen a lot of younger zoos who feel the same way, to the point the biggest zoo podcast, zooier than thou, covers it often. And the other forum is somewhat based on the idea.
We shouldn't go parading in the streets or on twitter. That can be dangerous. But we can still strengthen our pride and support for each other.

Thats all im trying to do be positive and make us stronger and prouder ... some say they dont need validation etc but alot do , so many feel ashamed and my "crusade" as its put is just to spread love and acceptance for who we are , nothing more x

I have told friends and now I want to tell them more and with pride ... no jail cell here ... gays used to be bombed in pubs in london now you can be anything you want ... maybe one day the same could happen with us ...if not atleast its a positive thought

Do I count as one? Do I? Yay another title to put on my zoo CV. :D

I am going to leave the public suicide to the new young zoos.
Lets just hope their need to feel special and accepted is not going to make it worse for us normal zoos.

Eh, at least for now, the risk of publicly announcing your actions/desires with animals will lend you to jail. I think this will only work some day if US states lighten the sentence on actions with animals.

Cool thought, though.

Thank you , to be honest I just want to help make the community closer Im not saying go shout it from the roof tops more just away of helping those who feel regret etc and making us all remember to love one another and be kind , being proud is just a stepping stone to that x

Risking possible jail time and social ostracism isn't the smartest idea... plus hashtags are for Twitter.

Please be careful about showing pride, instead hug your animals close and protect them as much as you can. This world isn't what it used to be.
 
I think the idea of it is very nice, but the practice much more difficult and complicated. As others have pointed out, (publicly) showing pride and being visible is (still) dangerous in this age, zoophilia being illegal in most and very taboo in essentially all countries. Public and popular opinion is still too unfavourable towards sex between humans and animals and those who perform it. I say "still" because I believe, I hope that one day it will be different. If we were to be publicly open now it would almost certainly backfire.

However I would find it nice if there was some pride-related thing on this forum, a small collective project or something, to celebrate and give a sense of community to those of us who want it, but that's just an idea.

Is there anything like this on VR chat? A feral animal pack roaming the world showing off sheaths? :D
I know there is a feral raptor model there, surely there are other animals.

Why the necessity to display or expose something to society? Just be happy to who you are by yourself... I don't understand why you need to scream to the world that you are into zoo...

Yea, that happens when they started asking for more and more "rights" that happened to clash with the human rights of others. It's hard to even talk about it because there's always someone willing to explode over this stuff.

There's no reason for prideful behavior. It gives people with a bone-to-pick a reason to target you in the name of "justice" or "morals". Be who you are, but don't shove it in the faces of others.
 
Solidarity on the internet? Just take a quick stroll through The Dumpster Fire and all hope of solidarity goes out the window pretty quick. Personally, I’ve been a part of the “zoo community” for a very long time, and from my observations the only thing zoos seem to be able to agree on is that animals and sex are sexy combination.

Not a fan of the “zoo pride” stuff myself. Anyone who thinks bestiality will ever be accepted is utterly delusional. I mean, just look at the backsliding on rights, and the hatred of gays and trans people that’s been building in the west. Sexual freedoms are getting more conservative rather than more liberal, and that’s not gonna do anyone who finds critters sexy any kind of favors. The only things these “out and proud” zoos ever seem to accomplish is basically the equivalent of kicking a hornets nest, and getting more anti-bestiality laws passed because suddenly it’s on everyone’s radar. No thanks.
 
Sadly your intentions are meaningless, ppl in general are closed mj ded and zoo in there eyes is so far on the sick and dispecable scale you wouldnt imagine, and what ppl think is meaningless it is illegal in most places and it does mean jail time , and one more thing where i live a lot of times the animals are put down so it is not a joke.
I never cared for pride movements and such, i understand it but i never cared what others do or feel. I know a lot of ppl need this almoast like a religious movement bit i do share the sentiment exposing the zoo community to much is dangerous.
I might be in the mi orty but i never understood this craving for cool sounding hashtags or that they actually mean someyhing. A lot of ppl think if they put a certain hashtag they do something for that group or ideal well o am sorry but i doesent. My latest example everyone and therr grandmother has some sort of slogan like "we stand with ukraine" and that it , u wana stand with the victims , u wana help DO so.ething anything, on the day that nightmare started my.local church organised busses to get ppl who wanted to flee here and we gathered supplies and cloth to take back . You dont need to have a lot of money or hundreds of ppl , sorry for the offtopic but i think the whole hashtag craze is a bit lame.
Dont get me wrong i know the OP has his heart in the right place so dont take it as an attack.

Pride is justified for something good that one has accomplished. Simply being zoophile isn't an accomplishment, so nothing to be really pride of.

But many people seem to experience guilt about their feelings for animals in light of religious teachings, laws and society's reaction to sexual desires for animals in general. Overcoming the guilt, accepting yourself and finding the courage to connect with other zoos may feel like an accomplishment then.

Proclaiming zoopride is probably an overshoot. But seen from the position of guilt, which would be the appropriate feeling for bad behavior, feeling normal is on the same axis and in the same direction as pride.
