Ok, I don't mean historians working at an institution, though that would be good too. What I mean are people in the community that remember or have a record of most of the usernames that went with the good homemade vid clips.
Now, I do think there's a handful of people that have large collections and a good memory of who was who, but I think this is important. If not, I think we're more likely to lose vids forever. It seems to me that knowing the correct username (even from other sites) that was with the vid keeps it searchable, and also helps people to file vids together by the same creator of the vid.
For example, there was a couple that went by the username weimaranerrude. I've only been coming across one of their clips in the last few years, while they probably had posted 3 or more.
