Which animals do you think are on the brink of developing language?
So I can list a few prospects meerkats have a developed language they can identify and give unique individuals outside and inside their group unique names they even have different dialects and accents the farther they are separated
Another candidate would be obviously chimpanzees they can learn and comprehend and solve complex problems and have been scientifically proven to learn sign language and attempt spoken language though with difficulties
Ravens are highly intelligent capable of complex problem solving and learning have been seen understanding exactly what humans have said about them
Saw a random video not providing as scientific prove but in this video a guy was making fun of a bird and it got angry and squeaked back at the person
The average dog understands human language as it's spoken depending on its breed if you talk to your dog often they will understand exactly what you are saying although they don't know how to respond back with the same thoughts
But have been documented trying to use words although they don't have the tools for it
Cats have been well documented to try to communicate with their owners and attempt to mimic human language
The abstract concepts we use in our society are more often than not, beyond the capabilities of a non-human to understand.
The abstract concepts we know are human are simply a collection of learned behaviors
If there was a human baby and his or her mother never spoke a word didn't show them anything else other than basic survival traits that child would be no more different than average conscious being trying survive
On that note pls describe the complex behaviors you think an animal can't learn that is deemed to complex since the goal is simple language a way to describe things not change them
Consent is a solved issue.
It's a solved issue for those who understand that animals read and use body language
It's not a solved issue for the law which requires that consent be given by a consciously aware individual that has the ability to communicate that consent
Animals on their own cannot consent definitively simply because they can not consent with a definitive language
Body language is not definitive since body language can't be recorded with context
Body language is capable of simple true or false statements
If there examples of body language being recorded then I apologize if I made an incorrect assumption
