So I have sodomized dogs growing up and I'm not going to lie I liked it a lot. The first time I did it I was rimming my dog as he rimmed me and decided to try anal with him. I was young when I tried and only used spit as lube. Really should have done something else.
 
technically speaking, a male dog is equipped to enjoy anal. practically speaking, anal is not something they usually do (tho they are some vids of male dogs mating and even tying together). i do believe some may enjoy it, similarly to how some human males do.

also, i wouldn't put much stock into vids where the boy gets hard from it as it's a thing that can happen from prostate stimulation... i had the displeasure years ago of seeing a vid where the boy was clearly hard from getting penetrated, but whined very much. i wouldn't say he had a good time.....

Yeah, an erection is not a good indicator of enjoyment, but there are other signs which can point to understanding if he is enjoying it or not, like that silly expression that some dogs do while panting, which resembles a smile. Even the fact that they're still and not anxious to leave, can be a good indicator to the fact that they're not in distress.
These are not absolute rules, since each dog is a different individual (for example, I've seen rotties growl, while their body language pointed towards another direction).
The only thing I know is that if you know your partner well, you can tell what he likes or not pretty easily.

they do. males have the prostate in a spot very similar to us and some females have the whole rectum so close to vaginal wall that it can technically be possible to stimulate it that way. the anus is also basically a bundle of nerve endings.
it's just very tricky to do right as @DVDA said. being anally penetrated is not a thing that typically happens to a dog and most won't wait around for "it will feels nice if you let me massage your butthole" or "wait till i reach your prostate".

my personal theory is that it's also very breed specific thing. breed with generally higher pain tolerance (like a rottweiler, most m/m content i've seen where the boy bottomed featured a rottie) can have a better chance of getting to the pleasurable part before it gets too uncomfortable/painful since the penetration itself (especially the first one) is not very pleasant.

My experience is that some love it, others tolerate it and many hate it.

A few key points on anal with dogs (or any animal for that matter):
- Size, if you are too big or the anus and rectum is too small it is going to painful and not work.
- Lube is critical, lube your dick completely and the anus. Try pushing some lube in too. Relube regularly. Spit doesn't cut it.
- Gentle warm up with a finger. Keep in mind that fingers are hard so becareful with two or more. They loosen up and relax making the experience enjoyable for both.
- Don't force it. Some don't like it at all. Don't turn something special into rape.
- Reach around helps get them into it. Soft clit rubs help get the girls into the mood and gentle handy for the boys. This is probably a more unpopular opinion on here since it’s more pro anal but I’ve never been a fan of it. For me it stems from the bacteria that you were exposed to. I’m willing to do a lot of things with dogs but going up the tail pipe is just not one that I can rationalize. There’s too many pathogenic things that can be detrimental to your health. It’s just definitely not for me. I’d rather stick with something that’s less of a risk
