Suggestion: Make new threads invisible until a mod approves?

Just reposting for better clarity.

The idea is to avoid instant-dumpster fire threads (like this one) and other dumpster-baity or overall pointless threads from seeing the light of day.
Yes, it sounds a lot gatekeeper-y, but it feels like "we" could use some of that. for a while at least... i also know some of them can be and are used to point out more let's say "damaged" users (like the incest one, not linking it), but is that really worth it?

thoughts?

I understand what you mean, but that would be a huge effort for the mods. Most of these threads come from new users. Therefore, it could be set up so that new users can comment but cannot open new threads until they have reached a certain number of comments. Like the DM function. That would avoid some of these dumpster threads and it would be automated without the mods having to do any extra work..

I get your idea, but I can't say I agree either...

Only reason for that is the number of dumb fucks that pass through here that just cruise right by the rule book.

And not only that, can't seem to browse around and see for themselves what gets people banned.

I say let the fuckers do dumbass shit and reap their rewards...

Better to get them out before they learn to hide what they're all about..

Limits on the number of comments and registration time are applied on many forums in the world.
Here, on such a sensitive forum, they are minimal. This has been a huge problem for years. Moreover, they still haven't managed to raise the ridiculous limit of 10 comments higher.

and this one

Users are right that if such threads are rejected, then it is no longer possible to filter members based on the comments received on them.

If new threads are to be approved and so, they are not visible, prepare for the same user creating the same thread like 20 times until he understands it us not working or reads the "your thread is in the approval queue, please wait"
😁

More work for the mods, less fun in the dumpster, dumb messages will not shine in an average idiots profile.
