Raise your hand if you're looking for a friend today

I know about the Dumpster Fire. Some of its topics are amusing, others are just exemplary of entrenched ideas and people mistaking "freedom of expression" with "being allowed to be as rude as possible without the consequences". Not the hills I would like to die on. But DF aside, I find it difficult to simply send a message to start a chat, as I always veer to the worst-case scenario in which the person I sent the message will consider me yet another creep trying to get in touch.

Maybe but I doubt they'll yell at you or anything if you're being friendly.... Like I have a penis as my pfp and people are genuinely polite so I reckon go for it and message people if you think they're cool plus this site was made for our type of people to connect but I completely understand, I avoid other people irl incase they try to invite me to a cult or follow me home telling me they live me (both real examples and I didn't even talk to the lady that said she loved me, she just followed me from some place)

Same here. Maybe it's the autism here, but I try to read between the lines, and that's how I lose the train of thought. Finding it at times difficult to live with myself, I keep wondering why people would want to contact me in the first place.

Age can be an issue too: listening to 1980s music here, bringing up quite some childhood memories, so that shows where to place me. Then I realise that there will be people here on this forum young enough to be my own children (not that I have any), and then to talk with them about zoosex.... Could that be awkward?

I guess, I'm gonna cop hate for this but that's if they can focus enough to hold a conversation... My ex was 25 and he would just sit on his phone when he would come over. I had to resort to texting him to have a conversation when we were together

I'm not saying there really is any rules but being respectful is always a good thing and if someone raised their hand a long time ago probably should consider the invite to chat expired.

Love this idea. I the male half was literally just going to make a post like this.
I'm raising my hand. Open to connecting with new people over any topic. Would honestly just like to talk to anyone as I've been very isolated since COVID.
