This is "Devil Anse" Hatfield, one of the patriarchs in the Hatfield-McCoy Feud, in West Virginia and Kentucky....The Feud was one of the Worst in US history....and lasted over 30 years. The last Hatfield tried was sentenced to life in 1901. Some recent investigation suggests that Von Hippel Lindau disease, a genetic disorder, may have caused the Murderous Streak among this crowd....Even this horse looks murder-bound.
