As my opener..
Today, 80 years ago, the Air Force's Enola Gay took off for Japan.
On 6 August 1945, the United States detonated a atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Three days later another one over Nagasaki. The aerial bombings killed around 246.000 people, most of whom were civilians, and remain the only uses of nuclear weapons in an armed conflict.

The consequences of the atomic bombings are still felt today and serve as a reminder of the devastating effects of nuclear weapons and the need for disarmament and peace efforts.
