"While we're all concerned about an orange colored global recession..."
This thread is not the place for your socio-economic belief, nor your accompanying "orange colored" political opinion.
Take those to the dumpster fire where they belong. Don't bring it in here.
I was trying to simply add a laugh to the drama in the real world that's happening at the moment so we could shake it off and look at pretty pictures. I didn't want to use the T word and tried my best to make reality as non political as possible. The show that I was watching at the time from DW (German) TV showed an unnamed individual in a decidedly orange tint, so that's what I thought would be acceptable and what I typed. FYI, every thing I plan on typing here is meant to (hopefully) add a little humor, be complimentary, nice to look at or to somehow add to the discussion. It is not my intent to impart any political opinion, or shame anyone or anything. It's meant to take us away from the real world.

So, I apologize for rubbing anyone the wrong way; please know it's not my intent. Of course, what one person might think is an innocuous statement another can get pissed off at. This is the Internet, so I think that's bound to happen. It could also be poor judgement in picking words on my part. You have my apology.

My intent was to simply take us away from the current drama in the real world. That's all and it will continue to be so. Now, back to pretty pics, great art, gorgeous ladies and of course dogs and horses of a most impressive nature.

Always good to know youre a man of few words....

Look for something in the center in the first photo and zoom in. Then look at the second which is the actual photo is was taken from to give a sense of scale.

Actually, you're correct. But these are photos taken directly after each other. I had to zoom out to get the scale and then zoom in to get the closer shot. Took about an hour to capture a gull right in the middle. It's probably a little after 8 AM. This is just off of the parking lot on the American side, believe it or not. It was winter so no one else was around.

100%. It's a full sized 5-6 foot wingspan seagull, possibly a Glaucus Gull which is 2.5 feet from beak to tail. To me, the scale here is mind boggling. You can look at a stone in the middle of the waves and not realize it's 20 - 40 feet across. The size of the waves is hard to grasp as well. This was taken at Niagara Falls from the American side looking over to Canada. Most people always say, "The Canadian side is better." Yeah, no. I couldn't disagree more and these photo shows it. There is another area on the American side to the right of where I took this which has stairs down where you can get below the falls a bit and get amazing shots but you'll be all covered in mist. In the winter (when I took these photos), it's an ice trap and not recommended unless you enjoy serious bodily injury. The American side is much more fun to explore IMO, serious bodily harm or not.

Oh, and if you look at the top middle right of the first pic, you can see the water falling off of the Canadian side above where the water falls off of the American side. If I'm correct, this is Horseshoe Falls where if we were to look to the left, we'd see the American side continue along and then join over to the Canadian side. It's a big big big slow curve but looks like two long straight edges from this angle.
