I dont think it was about"couldn't"....I believe it was more about failure of imagination, an FAA and other Nations' Equivalents, and that BIG Oil had just completed their pushing us into Automobiles and dismantling the Rail Systems....The Suck....ahh....consumers werent ready for a second revolution in Transportation. We never did "Meet George Jetson"....we were all still playing with Fred Flintstone.
