For you "Tombstone" Fans, this is the Cochise County Courthouse....It is in Bisbee, Az today, but part of the craziness of the Earp-Clanton issue, occurred because Pima County spun off a new County, called Cochise, and its boundaries ran through a portion of Tombstone. WSB Earp was the Republican Candidate for Sheriff, and lost. A Sheriff's income derived from licensing, Dog-catching, and other boring but lucrative jobs. In today's Dollars, A Sheriff there would have made a quarter million a year.
This is Maryland Crab Soup....much like Manhattan Chowder, but with crab meat instead of Quahogs. I don't care for it, a fact which scandalized many of my acquaintances when I lived there.....But I include it here because Maryland Watermen are a superstitious lot. No old time Maryland cook will make this during a Thunderstorm, or when one is forecast....
The Glamorous Glynis Johns....who played a Mermaid in two mid century Brit rom-coms, 'Miranda' and ' Mad About Men', and was a serious Spook....as my daddio used to call women who were Scary-Gorgeous. And I'll second that.....damn me, she was dreamy.
Linda Evans, in her "Big Valley" days....not a fan, because she was blase'-pretty, but....Its rare to see a picture, in Film, of a Lever-gun that is not a Winchester 1892. This is a Marlin, and new enough to have a custom rubber butt.
The Merchant Marine Training Ship "American Engineer" and a young Baltimore Crew catching their first taste of the Sea. This is a Bodine photo from 1943
