Back in the day, chickens were often shipped to factories crated and live. Sometimes youd see one running along the highway. One day, for kicks, I got my catcher's mitt and sneaked it into my Brother's car ....I spotted a flatbed with crates ahead, told him to catch up....then pulled the mitt out from under the seat....He busted out laughing so hard I thought hed kill us both.?

This is a bronze called 'Gloria Victis' finished in 1874 amid much controversy. Antonin Mercie created an allegory similar to Valkyrie, that cared for the vanquished and defeated after the battle. Unfortunately, emotion among the losing French Army took this personally, as an insult. The Broken Sword probably caused much anguish 'Gloria Victis'(1875) _Mercié, Antonin (1845-1916).jpg
