And this is "Clytemnestra"....by John Collier, 1882. Her axe tells her story. During the Greek-Trojan struggle over ten years, she took a lover and bore him two children. When her Husband, Agamemnon, returned from the Wars, Clytemnestra took an axe to him rather than remain his wife. Interestingly, she was said to be the Twin sister of Helen of Troy.
