And this is "Clytemnestra"....by John Collier, 1882. Her axe tells her story. During the Greek-Trojan struggle over ten years, she took a lover and bore him two children. When her Husband, Agamemnon, returned from the Wars, Clytemnestra took an axe to him rather than remain his wife.
