Hellenistic Life Size statue from about 330-50 BCE
The Fist Fighter
According to my lexicon :
”The Fist Fighter is a bronze statue of a seated man depicted as a boxer with straps tied around his hands; several different metal alloys are used to show wounds and scratches on his face. It was found in 1885 on the Quirinal Hill in Rome and is in the Museo Nazionale Romano.
It has been suggested that the statue be attributed to the 1st-century BC sculptor Apollonius of Athens.”

Bits n pieces.....cheek pieces, that is ....some of these look like Garcia hardware. Some of these are NOT for the inexperienced horseperson...The old Spanish bits were designed to absolutely control a horse....and by definition were quite cruel in heavy hands. They are not used in the US today and havent been for most of the past hundred years.Ornate Bits.jpg
