Unfortunately that's a reality. The second you come out as a woman, the horny pervballs attack, worse if you are female and an owner. You can set your Message privacy in

Account -> Privacy Security -> "Start Conversations with you"

Set that to people YOU follow, and then you won't get unsolicited messages.

Trade off being you'll have to initiate every convo, or follow people you want to talk to.

Also a few extra settings in there that will help.

I feel you there.. I mean, look where we are.. that should be kinda understood at the outset..

At the same time, I'm not very good at breaking the ice so to speak, so I'd rather a conversation evolve in an organic way and see where it goes from there..

But that just doesn't happen that often either... ?

Like I said, I'm just off when it comes to opening a conversation with a total stranger.

Once I get to know someone, I'll talk all day long unless I'm just in a quiet mood.

But yea, out of all the "openers" for a conversation, anything sexual just makes me cringe!

Not that I mind having a conversation like that, but I'd just rather get a feel for who I'm talking to first.

Typically I just ignore them because I want the sane respectful people to be able to message me and to be able to have good convos. It's just discouraging.

The people you follow setting, I should have worded better.

You don't have to initiate, with that setting, if you follow a person. So if you want to build a filter of potential chat partners, so far as I know, that'll be the only way.

Ignoring is, obviously, the primary solution, but it will get tedious quick.

That's where I struggle with this site. I don't get notifications on here so even having a conversation with someone in forums doesn't really go anywhere. They could seem like a great person but if I dont realize that they have messaged me... ?‍♀️ my adhd kicks in and it's like out of sight out of mind.

Omg! That's the worst! Like dude, cocks really aren't that attractive. I mean don't get me wrong, I love them but it's not like a picture of one is going to get me ready to go and want to jump into your dms.

And I get that that is a female thing, but what I don't get is why it isn't a male thing too..

I mean sure. Like you said, I certainly don't mind seeing a naked woman, but if a woman opened like that with me, I'd be seriously wondering if this is someone I want to be talking to...

There's different rooms such as certain state rooms, media rooms, etc. Some I have been removing due to either just one user, just generally dead, the owner of the room has never logged in since 100 days ago, etc.
People can make their own rooms and they can encrypt it and also hide it from the channel list. Such as making it invite only.
For vetting, it's why I have the thread about requesting to sign up and I check their activity here. Now I'm noticing I still have waiting tokens from the ones I sent to and they've been online here from the past few days. I get people are busy, but they only stay active for so long till the tokens expire.
I've actually pushed some to expire within 2 weeks instead of one.

Last night my girl started whining like a puppy died... Nope, nothing wrong at all, woke me up at 3am to, what I can only assume, was her testing to make sure I could still hear if something did go wrong LOL
