Not sure how to initiate with a dog

Hello! Just curious, let's assume that I owned a dog that I would bottom for :D
If I wanted to initiate anything, would it be best if I had like an object like a blanket or a puphood that has a connotation with sex? Or do people just go guns blazing and get naked?

Any input is appreciated :) Thank you!
