Need a quick Opinion [Cat Grooming]

My youngest cat has to wear diapers from time to time due to a bowel issue. He's already been seen by the vet to confirm it. He'll be 6 months old in a couple weeks, and has been raised from a very young age after rescuing him from a person I know who STOLE him from his mother.
My question is: Should I shave his butt and the area around it while he's in his little pull-ups or just clean his fur every time he needs a change?

call ur vet and ask what they suggest, but i am sure all vets and groomers would suggest a sanitary trim to be able to clean there better and avoid illnesses

Vet here. Absolutely right. We do sanitary trims routinely for cats with bowel issues among other things.

Long overdue reply but the issue was discovered- side affect to a medication he was taking to clear up a uri! We're diaper free and he is just the happiest little thing
