She's larger than a medium sized dog But petite she's a smaller large dog ..
She's a German / Belgian shepherd mutt
I don't know how old she is. Bc she was a homeless stray when I found her . She's young. I'd say definitely younger than two . But not a full blown puppy. She was spayed while physically mature .

Her cookie is as big as the average shepherd . But I can tell she probably has never mated before.

Sounds like she doesn't want it. Don't hurt your dog. Ignore the guy advising you do so.

I would be really, really frustrated and angry too if they operated on my companion without talking about it first. I don't think you're hurting her or anything, just that if you try to penetrate her, you easily could. There are other resources on this site for how to build a play connection but I'd say for the moment, while you're bonding, listen to what she's saying with the nips - she doesn't want to play that way just yet.

Doesn't always work out. Depending how old they were spayed. Had a dog that had puppies and was spayed years later, played with her before then, and the play basically stopped after her spay. They get more tighter than normal and sometimes there's a risk if you're not careful. +

Can never trust Shelters. You're lucky if they don't spay your dog if you lose them and they end up there and you finally claim them. My method is giving them shelter with me and putting out posts on FB for a lost dog. That's if I can, not always the case.


Experimenting with her and seeing how she's into it is fine, and I think you're doing good. Even if they may have never had mated, she may have never mated with a human. So would be extra tight, and who knows what they did with the spay. They may have removed more than just ovaries.

Very fair I will say though she nips me when she's happy too. Like when we play wrestle she also does gentle nips
