Male dog tail-hole?

Can any male dog owners who have had experience with tail-hole humping explain how they approached their dog to find out whether he likes it or not without bothering him?

Like anything with dogs, take it slow and pay attention to how he reacts.

A good start is while you are with him and petting him normally, let your hand go over to the area under his tail, gently stroking around there, and just see how he reacts. If he's clearly uncomfortable, stop. If not, you have a foundation to build on. Just don't rush anything, and take it in steps.

wasn't even my idea or plan at first. he likes scratches in that area and like to push his butt in my face. i just tried how far he'll let me go. ended up pretty deep.
he weights almost as much as i do so he can quite literally end things any time he wants. zero interest in mounting (me or other dogs), but he likes to have his dick sucked and bottoms like a champ. if dogs can be gay, i think he is.

usually they let you know they need out first once you get each others signalling good, my girls make it clear when they need out, diet, when that is well balanced, they tend to be very clean inside.

I've found that giving some extra sudsy attention to that area when giving baths, slowly over time, helps him understand that it can feel pretty good to explore the backdoor.
