Is knotting painful?

Can hurt a bit.
Be prepared and warmed up, try to make it possible for him to go deep, don't try to force it out.

There are also toys out there to simulate being knotted and you can always work yourself up to taking a knot as well. No need to rush just go at your own pace.

It definitely hurt me more in the beginning, but I got used to his size by now and it's gotten significantly better. The important thing is that you make sure you're in a comfortable position beforehand so you can stay in place for long periods as you'll be stuck like that for a bit and moving around with it inside is what hurts more.

How long does it last? And what's the most comfortable position?
I've honestly never been knotted, so take this with a grain of salt, but according to Wikipedia it can be more than half an hour, but usually less. The most comfortable position probably depends on on the person and the type of dog, but something with pillows and maybe a snack
