I just absolutely love my girls tongue in my mouth, dogs or specifically bitches in my experience are really good at intimately french kissing. (Some males are great too, but its just that natural nurturing instinct of which the females seem to have so much of that makes their love through kissing so effective). But I have been told that it can potentially have negative health implications over time main one being worse dental health which caught my attention.

To anyone who is knowledgeable in this area, or who has been making out with their dog for a prolonged amount of time, Is this true?

i dont think that there are no real studies done towards that topic - can only be personal preferences/experiences where u cant see the source

I don't own a dog but have done it plenty, and it is by far my favorite thing. There are of course some "risks", but there's risks doing it with people too. If she's a poop eater, or regularly gets into nasty stuff outside, maybe rethink it, but if she's not doing anything besides chewing on an occasional stick outside or toys, you're probably fine in my non-educated opinion. Just make sure she's healthy and mouth is clean. I normally try to get them to drink beforehand just to wash out any extra gunk. I've probably swallowed a gallon of slobber and will continue to do so. If I die from it, it was worth it! lol

I haven't had issues and I've kissed different dogs. Of course not strays. Keep your dental hygiene up, and make sure your dog doesn't eat random stuff like poop. That can be trained off pretty easy if you spot it in time. As long as your dog is healthy. I'd say pay attention if their breath smells off. Mine usually have none, but I have noticed she ate something nasty before, and any kissing is held off for awhile.

Confirmed, kissing is fun. I like to grab her lips with mine also, although she gets a little weirded out by it lol.

Long time dog smoocher here and can safely say that dental hygiene has been a-okay. Take care of your overall dental hygiene and you should be fine. No need to stop the beautiful bonding you two are having
