International waters?

TabooTim

Lurker
After searching the forums, I learned that beastiality is illegal in the US, even in the states that some people suggest are legal e.g. West Virginia. However, I was wondering if a person had a yacht/boat that was capable of reaching international waters, would a sexual act with a dog be considered illegal upon returning to mainland USA?

Yes, in principle, you are also liable for a illegal offense committed in international waters. Jurisdiction is generally determined by the flag state of the ship on which the offense was committed.

Then I suppose you could have the yacht registered to a country where it's legal. But, most of us don't have yachts for obvious reasons. Still, why bother? If you're careful, your chances of getting busted are pretty close to zero.

Do you know of a country where it is completely legal?

Spain should work, as I believe they decriminalized it. For others, the data here is a little old, but perhaps may be helpful:

Then again, you're at hardly any risk if you keep it all indoors with the curtains drawn, don't talk too much about it, don't take identifiable pictures, and mind your cybersecurity.

Spain has amended the law, but it remains unclear whether zoo sex has actually been legalized. The relevant article is ambiguous. And in these lists are some errors, Romania is for sure illegal...

With all these safety precautions, why do you need a yacht in international waters?;)

I could be very wrong, but maybe a plane ticket to a country where it’s legal will be cheaper than a whole yacht, fuel, maintenance, insurance, docking fees, etc… Or as others said, you could just draw your curtains

The country that claims owner ship of you, can still charge you, IE look at the "teachers" going to Cambodia getting jail when they return.

(At least two cases in Canada come to mind)

Again if you have video evidence of your self that is. and don't forget government 101: Even if it isn't stated as illegal we'll find some thing to charge you with!

At least in my country, it is not yet illegal, and there is a constitutional law stating: "No one shall be obliged to do what the law does not mandate, nor deprived of what it does not prohibit." Animal welfare laws wouldn’t apply as they are currently written, and in any case, there isn't jail time and the worst possible outcome would be fines or, in extreme cases, a prohibition on keeping animals (though that has never happened before).

Even if nothing happens because laws, if you get caught your life is ruined and you are putting in risk your animals so in the end it's all the same wherever you do it.

Well, that's my point. As a theoretical question of maritime law, it's one thing. I'm saying it's unnecessary to go to such an extreme. I've seen national statistics on bestiality busts around the country, it's like a dozen prosecutions a year. I'm guessing that almost all of them are people who get taken in by a setup, post identifiable pictures, or do something stupid like fence-hopping. Compare this to hundreds of thousands of American women who enjoy a romp with their dog on any given day - behind closed doors and carefully drawn curtains, of course!

good chunk cp is what got them caught, second is very clear video of them in the act, or getting caught in the act on security camera or person.

We're thankfully seen as a rather low priority in terms of Law Enforcement, as we do not cause issues for society, and for most there is no abuse issues, so unless you make your self unignorable they would rather not deal with it, as courts see it as an embarrassment to their community too so better to sweep under rug

Some places are cracking down on even just having the porn, so of course all ways know your area.

The USA will prosecute for crimes committed in other countries. If you go to Thailand or similar and have what is considered underage sex by the US, the US authorities WILL prosecute if they can prove it.
