Very curious if anyone has any experience bonding and introducing pleasure to geldings? I’ve owned a mare in the past and she was incredibly loving, but my new boy (had him for about a year now) is still quite nervous as he’s been through a lot of abuse in the past. In the past month he’s started getting comfortable dropping in front of me and has a few favorite spots to be caressed, but still is very nervous being touched in his sheath area (does LOVE his donut played with). Anyone have any tips to help him with his anxiety?
 
Geldings don’t have that drive. Occasionally you’ll find one who’s proud cut (behaviorally acts more studdy) but most just don’t understand or seek out that type of activity. In my years working with them I’ve known three who showed any interest. One who would get hard and try to mount, and two who would flare 1 out of every 100 attempts, and would give you a few min of play time every so often. If you’re wanting horse cock, gelding is not the way to go about it. Once in a while, but not frequently.

The genitial region is richly equipped with sense receptors. So gently caressing that region will send a lot of impulses to the brain of the castrate. That may be pleasent and enjoyable for the castrate. But do not expect anything more than that.

Thank you, this is what I was trying to get at with this post. I don’t expect anything from him by any means, just wanted to introduce some nice pleasant sensations for him. I’ll just keep at it when he seems to enjoy himself!

Not really looking for any sort of activity, and definitely don’t expect anything studdish behaviors- just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for making him feel good about his sheath being touched. If not for some gentle pleasure for him, for my sake since I’ll have to clean it at least bi-annually!

I totally get that, I think my post may have been a bit misunderstood. I’m not looking for anything even inherently sexual, just looking for tips on getting him more comfortable with that touch. I have to clean it regardless and feel better about doing that without having to sedate him twice a year

For health care you can use medication. Some just don’t like touched. If it’s more kicking when being touched that you can desensitize over time. And tickles are worse than full on touch.
