one of my female dogs (~50lb) I am interested in but she was spayed before I got her and has never shown interest in me. Earlier today I saw her humping a blanket and I called her name because I was surprised. She stopped and trotted to me, and tried grabbing my leg to hump it. I stuck my arm there instead of my leg and she grasped me and I massaged her vulva and she started humping like crazy and I basically just let her grind on me until she shook a little, and immediately zoomed away with her butt tucked, clearly excited.
Is this common for female dogs? I always assumed in females it was a stress response. She got mad zoomies right after and wouldn’t stop licking my hand and fingers and wagging her tail and doing the full-body shiver-shake she does when she’s playing.
Do you think instigating this type of interaction in the future is a good idea?
